  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
    Candidates must not (i) possess a doctoral degree; or (ii) be enrolled in a doctorate from the University of St Andrews or another institution.

The University of St Andrews will award a PhD Fund covering full tuition as follows:

  • The award covers full tuition fees for the time spent at the University of St Andrews. During this period, the student will also receive a stipend payable at the UK Research Council’s standard rate (the 2021-22 annual rate is £ 15,560).
  • During the time spent at the University of Oslo, the student will receive a full award and a salary.
